Abstract

The use of automated means for decision-making is becoming more and more frequent thanks to the advancement of big data technologies or computer learning (machine learning). This fact has been reflected in the European General Data Protection Regulation, which places great importance on transparency and the rights of data subjects in relation to automated decision-making.
The focus of this study is the analysis of those provisions of the Regulation referring to this type of decision within the framework of the obligations of information to the interested parties, their right of access and the right not to be subject to automated decisions, as well as the proposal of measures to achieve greater protection of the rights and interests of individuals.
