Actions on the genome, genetic information and genetic data present risks to fundamental rights, including the right to the protection of personal data, and to human dignity and freedom. In these actions, the intervention of public administrations, as well as of entities and institutions subject to the transparency obligations stands out. From the perspective of the obligations of active publicity and the exercise of the right of access to public information provided for in Law 19/2013, of 9 December, about transparency, access to public information and good governance, the need to complete the space and the content of the necessary transparency is concluded. The aim of this paper is trying to offer a specific compliance framework. To this end, the peculiarities of the activities related to the human genome, genetic information and genetic data are identified in their context of legitimate use, in order to define a specific space of accountability.
