A mechanism to promote transparency in public institutions is to have open data. Paraguay has a catalog of public data in open format. The objective of this work is to verify the formats of the datasets available in the catalog. The methodology is exploratory and descriptive, using the data available in the open data catalog (https://www.datos.gov.py/). The data collection was carried out in August 2023. A total of 325 datasets were found. The most frequent formats are csv (173), html (151) and json (41). The topics with the highest number of datasets are: Government and Transparency (95), Education (56), and Finance, Economy and Business (44). Among the most visited are Translators (12347), Population Projection (8672) and Judicial Officers (5170). The availability of public data in open format is a great opportunity for citizen empowerment.
