The commitment to public innovation is a growing trend in neighboring countries and in Latin America. In this sense, government laboratories have been identified as useful tools to apply experimental techniques that facilitate innovation processes within public administrations. The creation of the pioneering project of NovaGob.Lab, the first government laboratory in Spain born in 2016, responds to the need to bring this instrument that has been operating with such success in Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United States or Chile. The need to innovate in areas as specific as transparency can be an opportunity to attract initiatives of this nature in Spain.
